Experienced Butcher / Chef
Are you an experienced butcher or chef looking for a full-time position working Monday to Friday?
Australian Organic Meat Co are looking for an experienced butcher or chef to join their team. Work with organic, ethically farmed meat you can be proud of in a friendly and supportive work environment.
About the role:
- Prepare and cut meat products to a high standard for shop front and wholesale orders
- Portion cutting
- Packing orders
- Making of basic smallgoods and organic sausages
- Receival of orders
- Use of professional equipment
- Maintain freshness, presentation, and stock rotation
- Maintain hygiene safety and compliance with food regulations
Who we are looking for:
- Experienced butcher or chef skilled in meat preparation
- Understanding of food safety requirements
- Strong work ethic and reliable
- Trustworthy and punctual
- Ideally passionate about food, meat, health or organic products
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are required for this position

Apprentice Butcher
Are you passionate about quality meat and eager to learn the art of butchery?
Kick start your career today in the craft of butchery. Australian Organic Meat Co in Capalaba are looking for an Apprentice Butcher to join their team. A great opportunity to learn traditional and modern butchery skills from experienced butchers with hands on training. Work with organic, ethically farmed products you can be proud of in a friendly and supportive work environment.
About the role:
- Learn about the butchery trade, including breaking down carcasses and portion trimming
- Assist with preparation of sausages and other basic smallgoods
- Preparing different cuts of certified organic beef, lamb, pork and poultry
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation
- Work as part of a hardworking team who are passionate about bring quality meat to the community
- Opportunity to develop valuable skills in a growing industry
- Food safety and using professional equipment
- Full time position – Monday to Friday

Who we are Looking for:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are required for this position
- Junior, school-based, school leavers and adult applicants are all welcomed
- First or second year apprentice
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Strong work ethic and reliable
- Able to follow instructions and able to do hands on work
- Trustworthy and punctual
- Ideally passionate about food, meat, health or organic products
- No experience necessary, just an interest in the trade
- Applicants must be 15+ years of age to be eligible for this apprentice position
Clean up Hand
We are looking for a casual clean up hand in the afternoons - 3pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Would suit a school leaver or someone looking for a bit of extra cash each week.
Can lead to additional emplyment to the right individual.
Training
Butchering in Australia is a growing industry and a trade that will continue to grow. Are you passionate about food and interested in learning a valuable, hands on trade?
We offer an in house Butchery Apprenticeship where you can start your journey to becoming a qualified, skilled butcher at our organic butchershop.
As an apprentice, you will learn traditional butchering techniques, knife skills, meat preperation and food safety working alongside experienced butchers.
